Hi Pfer's

I have a number of commission paintings of the Home Guard Series namely 6 of the captain YS06.

Started off with airbrushing the undercoat with AK's grey primer and to give it a two tone shadow effect I also used a Vallejo panzer grey (dark grey) primer as well.

From there I used a thin down Jo Sonja (Olive Green) and Vallejo Mahogany Brown mix for the base colour with some highlights (Jo Sonja white) and shadow's (Jo Sonja black) added to those mixes.

With the face, thinned down for the airbrush, I used Vallejo Beige Red for the base skin colour, and some Mahogany Brown for shadow's.

From I've gone to the brush and started the eye's with a mix of Vallejo White and Beige Red for the Sclera (whites of the eye's).

I then mixed a Jo Sonja deep blue and some black for the Iris, later adding a little Vallejo White to that deep blue/grey coloured mix for the lighter highlights of the Iris.

Black for the pupil. Mahogany Brown under the top eyelid. Beige Red to clean up the bottom eyelid and added some Mahogany Brown to the beige Red for shadow's around the upper eyefold and his eye bag's.

Thanks for looking,
Cheers
Chris

You’re going to be busy with these little beauts!
With colour he really is coming to life like the Captain.
Such a nice acknowledgment to get commissioned for painting your own sculpts Chris. Something to be proud of!

Hi Mike,

Thank you very much, that's extremely nice of you to say. I am more than pleased to get a chance to paint for some people, quite humbled. It's also nice to get to paint, it can gives me a chance to have a break from the sculpting bit.
Yes it's definitely been a busy second half of the year Mike, for all of us.

Warm Regards
Chris.

Great update pictures , flesh really coming along , and bringing out his pompous character well

What colours you using for flesh ....presumably Acrylics?

Out of interest are you doing all the flesh on the 6 in a small production line ?

Cheers and keep painting

Hi Kevin,

Thank you. Yeah, the colour's I've used for the skin tones are all acrylics. All Vallejo, Beige Red, highlights with Basic Skintone and darker shading of Mahogany Brown. A very little amount of Jo Sonja Carbon Black diluted for the darkest deepest set area's (some creases).

The hair is Flat Earth and Burnt Umber plus a little mix of Beige Red or Basic Skin Tone when blending the hair line.

Cheers
Chris.
