Another Greek themed vignette in progress using 60mm white metal figures from http://www.greekheroes.gr/

This time it is Colonel Nikolaos Plastiras (1883-1953)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolaos_Plastiras

Plastiras commanded 5/42 Evzone Regiment in the Asia-Minor Campaign.

Alongside and slightly behind Plastiras will be this Evzone of Şeytanın Ordusu ("Satan's Army"). As you can see work has just begun on this one.

Thanks Steve. I know what you mean about 120mm but to be honest I'm finding these at 60mm a very nice size to paint.

I was thinking out loud, from a purely selfish point of view, of course!!

I suppose there is always the option of conversion/new sculpt. As Ive said before, I love these fringe subjects!(y)

    Roger,
I think all the Greeks in the forum need to proclaim you as an "honorary Greek citizen".....
So far I haven't had the experience of modelling a Greek Heroes figure but I think it's time to start the collection....
    Well done

Of course, there's nothing wrong with being selfish it's what hobbies are for, ourselves. (y)
I actually think there would be a market for a large scale Plastiras, one well known member has already said it would make a nice bust, no prizes for guessing who that was!

Looks like I will be celebrating 25th March here in North Yorkshire. :joyful:
Yes get in touch with Yannis at Greek Heroes, he has a wide range of figures from Greek history that are sculpted and cast very well indeed, they are a pleasure to paint.

I'm currently trying to identify those medals Kev. This is what I've got so far....

    1 Order of the Redeemer.
    2
    3 Medal of Military Merit.

4 Medal for the Greco-Turkish War of 1912–13.

5 Medal for the Greco-Bulgarian War.

    6

    7

    8

    9

    10 Inter-Allied Victory Medal (Greece)

Quite a few blank spaces there, I have a feeling some of them maybe foreign medals awarded fro the Balkan Wars.... or I could be wrong. :D
