At last my vignette based upon the work of J-L Gerome is finished . Some time ago I posted some pictures of the sculpted figures ready to be painted .
Halfway through I encountered a problem with the scale of the backgroud . The tiles and the joints between them on the walls were to large . So I had to redo them .
Luckely I finished the fountain and some ascesoires so I could recycle them .
As always the figures are made from milliput and duro . The scenery is made from plastic card and milliput . So are the fountain and the special shoes in front .
Figure heads and hands are from the Hornet range. A small part of the sitting figure is from the Preiser range , heavely resculpted because of the poor casting quality ( plastic )
The wooden construction used to sit on is made from the smalest plastic rods I could find (evergreen ) .
All water effects are completed using Vallejo products.
The painting job was done using Vallejo acrylics and oils .
Painting the scenery as also a chalange . The most difficult thing is to give something a worn out dirty look ( for the walls ) as suggested in the original work . But not overdoing it is not easy .

Nicely done!

I like this for several reasons;
- inspired by a an old masters effort
- converting to a 3 d effort
- simple civilian moment, still full of class and story.

Still have this as an inspiring piece.

thanks for sharing

cheers
