Wow gotta get this. In the grim darkness of the future, sculpting our own might be the only way to get our historical figure fix.

I bought this book today. It is exactly what I needed to get started using Zbrush software to try and sculpture in 3D.

Here is the review I gave it on Amazon.

If you have ever tried to figure out where to start in z brush and want to create your own figures then this is a great start. I have tried using professional videos and it is either to advanced or goes off in other directions than what I want to do. So I bought this book as I have seen what the author has created over the years that has blown me away.

There is more to this book than just a couple of figures sculpted in 3D. He goes into 3D rendering, printing and even painting one of the figures using acrylic paints. I was pleasantly surprised at how much the author packed into this book.

It may seem expensive for a digital book for most people, however, I pay more for just one commercially made figure on average. I now have something that will get me started on my minds eye of what I want to try and create on my own.

Long story short if you want to try your hand at digital sculpting a bust of a full figure then this book gives you the info you want without having to learn every click of Z brush software.

If anyone has questions about my thoughts just ask.

    Thanks Warren, Steve, bigtodd!

And, Thanks a lot for posting your review on Amazon, bigtodd!:)
I'm REALLY happy to receive such a nice review!

Speaking of the price, as you mentioned, yes it may seem a little bit pricey for an eBook. But the price reflects the significant amount of time, money and effort I invested in produce this book. (Tons of 3d print errors, cost of 3D printings, taking a lot of reference pictures, shooting acrylic painting procedures, writing & coding EPUB, etc, etc)
Additionally, when considering the printed version of the book (which is 550 pages(!)), the cost of printing and shipping is substantial due to the large data size and the inclusion of many pictures. so, the price is reasonable for an eBook version as a more cost-effective option.
And... It's still cheaper than the price of monthly haircut! :)

    Hi.

Will the kindle edition work in the other e-readers?
Going to do the same for your two other books?
And finally will you do a book for ancient periods?

    Thank you.

    Hi Paulo,
The answer is no, for now, Kindle edition only. which eBook service do you use?

WW1-2 is my main area of interest, but I also enjoy studying and doing other historical periods. but, meeting the wide-ranging demands of users (historical accuracy, etc) can be very time-consuming for research. What period do you like?

    Thank you for your answer.

I normally I use software that can read epub format.
As for historical periods: WW1 is great but also XVII and XVIII centuries but I can go back to Crusades, Vikings and Roman periods.

    Cheers

Looks interesting, I've had a couple of attempts to get my head around Zbrush but it's been a little daunting.
Do you have to have Kindle to get this e-book?
