    Hi,

Recently FlyingDutchman has put on PF his version of the Andrea bust Templar Sgt and he has made an excellent job of it. I put a comment on telling him about my own version and he suggested that I put mine on so here it is.

I painted it some time ago and was never happy with the look of it as in my opinion there are too many deep creases and wrinkles and the eyes are too sculpted.

So this time I took out my milliput and filled in some of the creases and reworked the eyes, smoothing them over for ease of painting as can be seen by the first photo. 031.jpg

Then using photos of the late actor James Gammon, who this bust greatly resembled I tried to age the bust in accordance with the pictures as photo 2 shows.

I don't think that this worked so I abandoned that idea and started again. Making the face more youthful and giving the eyes a look to his left so that it didn't seem to be so staring.

I wanted to use this bust in conjunction with the Young Miniatures Knight Templar as though they were in conversation with each other.

Nice work and interesting story of the origin of paintwork. Working with Milliput has gone great, judging by the result. Well done!.

    Cheers Borek :)
