These are the first two photos of my new exiting work, the fantastically sculpted by Andrea Jula Suebian Warrior from Pegaso.
Now I have to paint the brown fur and then the shield...

That's the problem...searching on the web for some inspirations is been a failure, nothing that could be good for me also by an historical point opf view.
A friend of mine as a fan of roman history told me that this kind of warriors had on the shield only some geometric pattern and nothing else, and it will be almost surely the drawning that I will make on, but if someone has some good ideas and suggestions...I'm here!
    Thanks.

    hi Mack,
I wrote a review for this figure before and made a quite detailed search for Suebians when writing the review. I found that suebian shileds can be decorated with animal designs drawn in primitive style as in ancient Germanic shields. Eagle, bear, bull, boar, lynx or wolf symbols can be used.
    best regards

Looking great so far Marco. I have this figure and have been accumulating different versions of it as I find them. I agree, not much on sheilds available.

    Hi Graywolf,
can you give some drawnings to take inspiration? I've searched on the web for totemic animals but without a good result.
    Thank you very much.

    Marco amico mio,
I made a search on my reference books+internet and i can say German tribes including Suebians have geometric designs on shields besides animal symbols.
Here is an example for geometric designs on german shields:

Some animal symbols for your inspiration ;)
