Tony ... Thank you :) the extreme close-ups also help me spot if anything is looking a bit awry ;)

Faces are about finished now, so head gear next :)

Sprayed a base colour onto the denison ....
AV Ger Cam Blk Brown as a low.
GW Graveyard Earth as a mid.
Mid with a drop of AV Light Flesh as a highlight ....

    Camo pattern next

Knowing what colour Graveyard Earth is helps, and I was toying with using it myself.
In the pics it look way too light, but it isn't. If you know what I mean.

Carl ... It was a deliberately light version of Graveyard earth :)

    Chris ... thank you! :)

    Denison .......

Still some work to do on it but I'm fairly happy with it

The green is AV Luft. Cam Green
The brown is AV Burnt Umber ( Surprise!! )

The shading is with AV Ger. Cam. Blk. Brown and highlights are GW Graveyard Earth with a dot of AV Light Flesh

Any idea what the binocular straps were made of? I'm guessing leather :)

Hi Mark, the highlighting and shading on the camoflague pattern is excellent.

I was wondering if the brown colour needs a slight adjustment to make it a little more reddish in tone. The burnt umber colour seems a bit "cold" if you know what I mean, and the brown colours I've seen on most denison smocks is a warmer tone of brown.

Tony ... many thanks :) Yes your right, it was looking a bit cool, I've adjusted the shadows a little with a reddish brown and it seems to have worked... thanks again :)

    Hi Mark,

It's only a subtle adjustment, but it makes a big difference. Well done mate.

Tony ... Thanks :) and thanks again for the input :)

    Starting to get there!

Thanks to Carl ;) I added a bit of texture to the barrels of the binoculars with some AV Acrylic putty ( stippled about 3 thin layers on ) Metals done with pencils, Metallics and plain graphite .... next I plan on sorting out the hats and the brolly :)

    only the head....

To decide about. But really like the bowler version :)

Arm and brolly epoxied on now and fitted very nicely. Some weathering required now and the bowler still needs a lot of work ( and mostly matting down ;) )

    Hi Mark,

It's been fascinating watch you paint this bust and following your progress step by step.

Stu ... Glad you like it :)

Tony .... Thank you! It's been a fun paint :)

Been slowly adding dirt and grime to the face and then removing most of it, have done 3 layers so far, quite subtle but still a few more layers to go...

    :)

    Wow! Wonderful facial painting.
