This is the latest release from Stormtroopers Miniatures from their 120mm range of resin figures. The figure represents Captain W G Drummond Stewart, 93rd Highlanders, Lucknow 1857. The parts are all contained in a sturdy box an wrapped in a bubble wrap envelope. There are two reference sheets included in the box that act as a painting guide for the main kit and full colour tartan pattern.

The kit parts are cast in light grey resin parts with some wire, lead foil and hollow metal pole that is used for the flag pole. The figure is sculpted by Maurice Corry and cast by Stuart Hale. A close inspection of the parts show the exceptional detail sculpted into the piece that we now come to expect from Moz, this is then strengthened by the quality reproduction in the casting process.

Front and rear views of the main torso showing close up detail of the kilt pleats and other detail, casting blocks to be removed.

Front and rear views of the head and face showing a very nice facial expression as well as close up of detail.

The legs fit into the corresponding sockets perfectly.

Details of the arms and moulding blocks to be removed.

Front and rear views of the flag showing the raised detail on both sides which help in the aid of painting.

Components that make up the link between the hand, flag and pole. The hand has been cast with a hole through the centre to accommodate the supplied tubing that is used as the flag pole. The flag is cast with a small metal rod that fits nicely into the hole in the flag pole, very simple and strong once assembled.

Other smaller kit parts that make up the flag and pole assembly including some lead foil and lead wire that needs twisting together to show a braided rope to fit the other smaller parts to the end for attachment to the top of the flag pole.

The right hand is cast as part of the sword handle and has a hole already present to locate into the pin of the wrist.

    Conclusion:

Another fine release of a popular subject. Moz has done well with this again in regards to subject matter and quality of sculpting. All parts are well cast with minimal clean-up of seam lines and block removal. Highly recommended.

    WOW that was quick Tommi.
Thank you for a great review of a stunning figure.
Just one question; can the right arm be positioned in the outstretched position that you can see in the painting? I think this looks a better balance than the box art.
Keep up the good work Mate it is really appreciated.
    Cheers,

I guess with a little bit of modification and some putty this would be possible but the two surfaces between the torso and the fitting face of the arm are profiled to be fitted as shown in the box art picture.
