    Hi,

This figure was sculpted for me by the very talented Maurice Corry and is just awesome. He offered it to me and I snapped it up. It is the first of many that maurice will be sculptin for me. I have 2 more already and there are more coming.

Please note it will be available in the next month or so, but Mark quite rightly wanted to post the painting of this piece which I must say is lookin good as usual mark.

Glad you all like it and hope you will follow with interest, i certainly will be and I hope to be temptin you all year with lots of varied pieces

Good to see maurice is back in action and look forward to seeing more in the future, for us oldies 120mm is a nice scale to work in so it is good to see some new pieces coming on the market-the recent Inniskilling Dragoon is a great piece of work.

WoW! That is a lot of replies!

As the Budapest Gunner is almost finished I can focus on this beauty and give it some attention, but first :)

Carl, Jamie, Pedro, Dimitrios, Ken, Matthew, Michael, Stu ;) , Peter, Andreas, David, Keith, Mark, Tony and Marcell! Thanks for the comments and it is a cracking piece :)

I blew some paint at this first with the AB...

AV German grey and AV Dark Prussian Blue as a base

Base + GW Shadow Grey + GW Codex Grey + AV Light Flesh for the highlight

then got some time in with the hairy brushes to tighten up the creases and folds :)

Based the tunic and insignia in AV Burnt Umber.

Again cheers for all the comments

    :)

You've become a bit of an AB fiend. Has the collar had a mishap? There's a bit missing.

    Hi Carl,

The mishap is where the head sinks into the collar and is hidden under the beard.

Coming along nicely mark, you really are improving with every piece.

Carl ... Trying to learn a new technique so really trying to use it as much as poss :)

Stu ... Glad you like it :)

Okay so I have been working on the front of the figure as I plan on using the airbrush for the greatcoats basic colours.

The sash was based with AV Hull Red, mid with AV Vermilion and High was mid with a touch of AV Light flesh.

The tunic front is based with AV Burnt Umber and all the rest is layers of GW Blood Red.

The buttons and other brass work are Based with AV Ger. Cam. Dark Brown, mid with AV Green Ochre, high with GW Golden yellow and top high with White, I washed the metals with AV Burnt Umber to add some depth.

the Sword belt??? Was based with black, mid with GW Codex Grey and high with AV Off White. then picked the edge out with AV White

    :)
