    Hi!

This is my next Box art for Stu...

It is essentially the same figure as this in the thread I did last year but without the bowler or the brolly :)

And here is Guys review of it

Spooky! This will be the first time I have painted a second version of a figure :) will I use my own thread as reference? who knows ....

The Tatham-Warter figure was my 23rd Acrylic piece, a quick add up will make this my 40th one! I'm slowing down! :(

    ;)

Anyway clean-up was without any problems and after putting everything on paint sticks I got some primer on, there are a scattering of pin holes but most show up on the bottom of the trousers so will be a doddle to sort out :)

On the kitchen side drying after a wash ( with the AMP Para in light green )....

And assembled with blu-tac to take a picture :)

Please feel free to exercise the 3Cs

James ..... Groovy! Have you started it? :)

Steve ... Too busy usually with real world stuff :(

    Chris ... I most assuredly will! :)

I have decided to Try and do the two Paras as an exercise in parallel painting :)

    Well here's hoping ;)

As with the AMP head, I used the standard set of colours for a face but have not used the GW Elf Flesh yet..... Still a lot to do to finish this face but it is in the ball park now :)

    Hi Mark,

As with the other para, I think you're doing some great work on this figure.

I imagine you'll be looking for a change from paras after finishing these two.

Lovely job on the face, he looks quite Scottish. A wee bit like Gordan Ramsey in fact.

    Mitsutaka ... Thank you! :)

    Rob ... Thanks again :)

Mike ... Thanks and now you mention it .... ;)

    Marcel ... Thank you! :)

I have finished the flesh areas on the face ( and hands ) and still need to address the hair and eyebrows and sort the beret, also the eyes need a tad more work and after looking at the other version some stubble is going on :)

but I quite like how it's going

    :)

this is the version I painted previously :)

I though that your earlier version was excellent Mark, but I think that you have developed your individual style in to something special.

    Carl ... Thank you!

Stu .... Thanks and glad you like it :)

I added the eyebrows, sorted a beard and hair and softened the edges of the bead.

the beret is finish ... probably

and added a highlight to the eyes.......

    Very nice Mark.
You sure have developed your own clearly recognizable painting style!
I'm not a very big fan of the stormtrooper figures, but your painting of them is excellent!

    Will keep following with interest.

    Cheers,

Adrian ... Thanks :) Painting the Stormtroopers figures is doing my painting ability and style a world of good :)

Pedro! ... Many thanks and hello! ;)

    Trews and anklets.........

Got the AB out today and base coated the trousers with AV Ger. Cam. Blk. Brown.

I then added a mid colour of AV English Uniform sprayed from above and allowing upper areas to partially mask the trousers...

Then added some AV Light Flesh to the mid to make a highlight and again sprayed that from above just catching the parts that are clear of any overhang ...

The anklets are Hair Brush painted ...

    base AV Khaki.

low AV Ger. Cam. Blk. Brown. added to the base 1:1

High AV Light Flesh added to the base 1:2

Working on two figures at once is fun but time consuming :)

    Hi Mark,

I used to think using an airbrush on a figure was cheating a bit, but having seen the results you've achieved with your AB, I've changed my mind. Not only is it NOT cheating, it's an absolute must for achieving smoothly blended and consistent colour transitions over large areas of clothing.

I'm going to stick with my brushes for now, but might experiment with my AB next time I do a large scale figure.

    Great stuff mate.

    Ken ... Many thanks :)

Tony ... I used to think the same, but a conversation at Sword and Lance earlier this year and a bit of help with " air brush discipline " from a mate and, bob's your mothers brother! :)

    Denison ... part 1

I used a slightly different mix to do the Denison base colour....

    Low ... AV Burnt Umber
    Mid .... AV English Uniform
High ... Mid plus AV Light Flesh

When I apply the Glazes for the Camo some of this shading will show through :)

Next will be some swirly colour .... :)
