Ladies and gentlemen of the Planet, our friend and fellow member Stefano Borin will be sculpting a figure of Charles the 1st, if any of you out there have any good research material and photos on this subject, please e-mail them to me and I will forward them to Stefano.

Thanks in advance from both of us.

    Cheers
    Roc. :)

Charles I (Charles of Anjou), 1227–85
or Charles I (King of England) 1600–49

    Both interesting and colorful characters.

Hello Mike, that is a very good question. I'm assuming that he is referring to Charles the I king of England, I have e-mailed Stefano for clarification.

    Cheers

Hello Mike, Stefano is referring to Charles I of the English civil war.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Please check the Wikipedia entry for Charles 1--- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_I_of_England
it shows several fine portraits including van Dyck's "Triple Portrait" showing Charles from left, right and face on. Also note, Charles was England's shortest monarch, standing only five foot four inches tall.

Also note in the movie "Cromwell" Charles was played by Sir Alec Guiness and Alec with his period make up was almost a dead ringer for Charles.
