Having in my hands the very rich Simoncini text, I had no problem understanding the various details of the uniforms, especially Russian uniforms.
I effect such uniforms can leave you a little perplexed at first glance, the extreme formation of every detail leaves little to the imagination and extravagance typical of Napoleonic uniforms; however the first half of the 19th. Century is the last period for this type of uniform, in 1860 uniforms went through a very definite transformation up until WWI.

The Russian Hussar is a depiction of General Anton Angelhardt, Lieutenant General of Hussars of the guard in 1853.
The other sculpture is of the English officer of the 11th Hussars in 1856.
My painting technique is a blend of acrylics and oils.
