    Hi all,

I have now finished this little vignette today. Like I said before, I have tried to paint it with only one light source - that of the brazier.

The wall section is a piece of insulation foam cut and covered in plaster. The ground work is a hotch potch of rubble, sand, plaster of paris, magic sculpt and other bits from my bits box and finished off with Andreas snow.
The figure is from Hornet and the head from Mantis.

To paint it all, I have used acrylic and a lot of air brush. The blending of the flames that are reflections have been done with the use of a retardant that slows down the drying time of acrylics so you can blend them much like oil paints. I think this is something I will use more of in the future. I have seen this used by Calvin Tan.
All of the shadows have been painted on and even the snow I tried to blend.

Not sure how well this has come out, I will leave it to you guys to decide.

Thanks for looking and your comments.

When I saw your earlier post about this as a WIP and what you intended to do with it, I chuckled to myself and thought "no chance mate!!!"

Now I see the finished result, I am sitting here eating a large slice of humble pie and marvelling at a job beautifully pulled off. Excellent work and my sincere compliments on a great job!

Awesome job! The warm tones reflecting against the wall and the Soldier give the impression that the flames are really dancing within the drum. Yep, you really pulled it off (y).

Nice composition. I think it´s a great study of reflection of light. Always is very difficult to recreate something so ethereal as fire. Did you retouched the second hole area of the barrel in the last pic?:cautious:
