SS Squad Leader, Russia 1941, Bonehead Models 200mm (1/9 scale)

I have an excellent figure in my hands, which was sculpted and designed by the well-known sculptor Mike Good and released as the first item for his own brand, “Bonehead Models”. Paul Ondeck of the Model Cellar company cast a top-notch product in resin and handles the sales and distribution (www.modelcellar.com). I must admit that this is my first figure in this big scale and I had my doubts. But from the start, when I opened the relatively small kit box, I was surprised from the casting and sculpting quality. Ok I know the impressive quality of Mike’ sculpts but I was a little curious about the general impression of the kit parts such as the quality of the resin, the casting and the most important, the fit of the parts. These are the words that can resemble all that I felt holding the parts in my hands: Am I dreaming? Is this real? This is astonishing! I am so excited that I took more pictures than usual so as to share with you the extreme high quality all around and in all aspects!!!
I looked for the moulding blocks, the moulding lines or any air bubbles or something that might need special care. This is a 200mm figure kit so some imperfections would be expected, but I was wrong.

So:

1. As you can see in the pictures the moulding blocks are used as mate the contact points so no removal is needed.
2. The fit of all of the parts is excellent like a very good injection kit.
3. There are some very subtle moulding lines in a very few parts (you must carefully explore to find them as they are almost invisible…).
4. From what I saw in my parts you do not need more than a couple of minutes to clean them, go for gluing, priming and painting!!! I suggest you to use Epoxy Glue as the parts are big and need more strong joints. The design is very clever so each part fits into the other without leaving any gap, even the fit of the upper to low torso is impressive as you can examine in the picture. From my dry fits, without making any sanding at all, I think that the epoxy putty is not need or maybe in very few places. See the fit of the parts by yourself!!!

Not sure about the pose. I would have expected the left leg to be forward or the figure to be right handed with the left arm forwards to offset the right leg being in front. Face and hands excellent. Not a fan of this unit.
