After my long Medieval Hunter, during my convalescence, I wanted things that would go rather quicker??:) So I went after this pilot in 75m/m. There was a lot of webbing to paint and I found some pictures on the web to help me out.
    No box art involved.

Two piece casting with a right arm and the rest. Some clean up required but not much.

Self made nameplate and looks like it. I may change this out when I display him at a show.

My usual oil over acrylic with warm grey with Prussian Blue added to suit.;)

Not sure what the white lines are on the boot as they are not on the model????

A few flowers added for colour on the simple base.

This photo got blurred out a little. I tried for a young face as these guys were hardly out of short pants :D His rank is on his shoulder instead of his sleeve as per the casting. I found references as either or so stayed with the shoulder. Flight Lieutenant. Fr the googles lenses I used a dark blue colour for the tint followed by a coat of liquid floor polish.

    All comments welcome and appreciated.
So onward and upward to the next Project.:joyful:
Thanks for taking the time to look.

    Cheers

You have a very neat and crisp painting style that really suits this figure. A good job John.

Very nicely done. The casting is wrong. Service dress tunics didn't have epaulettes, the later widely worn battledress tunics did, and rank was worn on the sleeve.

As everyone else said John; your painting is as shark as a tack.
The efforts to make the pilot young looking really paid off. Loverly flesh tones and application.
Here's to good work and good health JB

    Mike,
I thought that I might damage the head so left the casting as it was and left the sleeves blank.
    Thanks for looking and commenting.
