My latest progress on the Spanish Noble project.

I decided to include a ceramic plant container in the scene to add some balance. The initial idea of a plant growing in full soil did not look right in my opinion.

Here are some pics of the current progress.

Container and plant were scratchbuild. How I did this can be read on my weblog (click HERE).
    Thanks for looking.

    Cheers!

Great Blog, Johan(y). Do you mind sharing the palette you use for the yellow clothing? Oils , I assume

No problem Paul, here are the colours I used:

    Base: yellow ochre
    Highlighting 1: yellow ochre + yellow ochre light (50% + 50 %)
    Highlighting 2: yellow ochre + yellow ochre light (50% + 50 %) + cadmium yellow medium
    Highlighting 3: cadmium yellow medium
Shading 1: yellow ochre + raw umber
Shading 2: yellow ochre + more raw umber
    Shading 3: raw umber

All colours are from the Talens Rembrandt range, except the raw umber colour which is from the Winsor & Newton Artist's range.

Mind: I always work wet on dry (glazing) as from the second highlighting and shading stage.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Johan, wanneer organiseer je een workshop? Ik wil graag eens les krijgen van een master zoals jij.
