Wikipedia: The Spanish Civil War, widely known in Spain simply as The Civil War or The War, took place from 1936 to 1939 and was fought between the Republicans, who were loyal to the democratic, left-leaning Second Spanish Republic, and the Nationalists, a falangist group led by General Francisco Franco. The Nationalists won, and Franco then ruled Spain for the next 36 years, from April 1939 until his death in November 1975. Most of the attached photos were taken by the great Robert Capa or Gerda Taro. Robert Capa was a Hungarian war photographer, photo journalist and also the companion and professional partner of photographer Gerda Taró. He covered five wars: the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, World War II across Europe, the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and the First Indochina War. He documented the course of World War II in London, North Africa, Italy, the Battle of Normandy on Omaha Beach and the liberation of Paris. A couple photos came from the Google Art Project. https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/#!exhibit:exhibitId=QRWI5SN- If you have an interest in the Spanish Civil War at all, some time spent on this site would be repaid well, IMO.
