Hi to all on PF ,
It always nice to see a new company (to me at least) release some new additions to their range so I was pleased to have the postman knock on the door and be given a package from S2K .

What was in the package ...2 busts (my eyes lit up(y)) from the owner of Sovereign 2000 (S2K) ..Marc Day .

    Scale : Approx 1:9th

    Material : Resin

Reference Number : S2KB003 - SS Tank Commander

    Sculptor for both: Tony Williams

This bust is a follow on from the Tanker bust that I have also reviewed on PF Coming in a sealable bag held securely in a white cardboard box , preventing any damage .

On the review sample the box art was unpainted but customers purchases will have a full colour image on the front ...which will provide good reference material if needed .

Consisting of a total of 3 main pieces (torso , head, and small pedastal base ) plus 4 pieces which make up the headphones he wears in typical fashion as seen in many real life pictures. Also inclusded is some elastic thread to be used to represent the cables from the headphones (put a bit of super glue on it to stop fraying when cut)

There are casting plugs to remove , but no real job dealing with these , its good to see the cap one being on the edge and not the top) . Fit is good after the prep required .

The model is sculpted wearing the reversible smock and a cap with his headphones ready .

Looking at the torso first :

As I said this is the reversible hooded smock , allowing the painting of either versions of camo or winter white (don't forget to paint the lining in the opposite design)

Underneth this he wears the Black panzer jacket with a scarf round his neck .

Tony has sculpted the many folds well and will make for a interesting painting task , the pedastal base fits underneath (I would personally pin this)

Looking now at the other main pieces now :

    Firstly the head:

The character is a typical stern looking face , sculpting is nicely done on the ears , with high cheek bones , the right hand lower eyelid (as you view it) looks slightly bigger than the other , around his neck he has the throat microhones used with the headphones .

Next the cap and the headphones :

The cap is also nicely sculpted with a locating position for one of the headphones , badges are well represented , aiding painting .

The headphones consist of several pieces (the headband, ear shells , small detailing pieces and the elastic thread to represent the cables.

    Conclusion :
Although this is "another" german , its a great little addition , well sculpted and presented , which will give the modeller a lot of enjoyment both in the painting and when looking at it in his display cabinet
Highly recommended and another good from S2K, to get one of these contact them either via their website (www.sovereign2000.uk.com)
or e mail Marc Day at day.m@btinternet.com , if you are in the UK you should also be able to get it (like the Tanker) from Historex Agents at www.historex-agents.com TEL : 01304 206720

Price for this little bust is £15 with FREE shipping from S2K .
