English Yew has one function alone:longbows.Other than that these are beautiful works and some nice plinths too.Do you produce the plinths for yourself only or are they for commercial use?

No secrets, well I don't think so, I'm using Vallejo Flesh set with some Jo Sonia French Blue, Purple Madder, and Napthol Red, Vallejo Burnt Cadmium Red. I'm using Sang Eons Step by steps printed out to A4 and laminated for inspiration. The plinths I used to buy until I bought a lathe and a bunch of Yew blanks from Ireland, the trouble is turning wood is addictive, so it was then new chisels, new lathe and I also now turn bowls as well, what turned out to be a cheap way to make plinths has become more expensive. ;) The Dennison smock is interesting to paint, I've done one before and will post it when I can go out and take some more pix, it's tipping it down here. Thanks all for your comments it's very encouraging. Oh, one last thing my secret for faces is W&N series 7 000 brushes, expensive but the best.

I would be open to offers for anyone wanting plinths :) But no Oda I mostly make them for myself. I turn them usually out of Yew but have used some sycamore and pinewood.

The oak patter I quite enjoy painting, it's almost relaxing......as for the Palm tree pattern, that makes me run and hide!!!!! :)
Loving the skin tones, was watching a tutorial on the last cavalry website. Dave used stamina smoke thinned down and painted midstream o the face with it. Check it out, it's quite cool and might add another dimension to your work.

    Slainte,

    Andy
