Historical or not, still a nice miniature to paint. One little remark about the thumb of the right hand holding the spear: IMHO the nail is pointing too much to the side which creates a very unnatural look.

Hi, this helmet is common in the centre of Europe and the Slavonics were in contact with the Germanic peoples. Their settlements were in close contact with Germans villages. During this period, many weapons were exactly the same, in a cultural mix due to trade and to the continuous wars.

I agree the figure looks rather more like a Lombard than a Slavic warrior.
Good info. about Slavic warriors of the VII th. century is hard to find in Europe. That's why I would like to ask Martin Rohmann if he can post some other drawings from the book please?
Although I'm pretty sure the book isn't available in Belgium or maybe Europe, I will try to find the book if Martin wants to be so kind to include the references of the book as well.
    Would be very grateful.
    Thanks

    Martin,
I'm very interested in Slavic warriors of that period. Unfortunately I can't find good info. on the subject over here. I think you might have missed my first reply, so I've taken the liberty to post it again.
