Hi,

Here's my latest figure - Sir Marmaduke de Thweng at the Battle of Stirling Bridge, 1297. It's painted in acrylics. I replaced the axe and sword with Scale75 accessories. It's sculpted by Adam McMaster, based on a figure by Adrian Bay. Hope you like it! Was a lot of fun painting it.

Edward

Very nice work! Marmeduke was a famous ancestor of mine, and I always enjoy seeing art that depicts him. Thank you for sharing your figurine.
I have always wanted to see the Adrian Bay Marmeduke figurine in real life. (I don't even know if he is still alive or where he lived)
What happens to these wonderful figurines as time goes by?

Hi Philip, thanks a lot for your comment. I did some research and your ancestor seems to have had an amazing military career.

I've met Adrian a few times at the Euromilitaire show in Folkestone, most recently last year. Very nice chap. Can't remember where he is living at the moment. And I don't know if he still has the figurine - it may have been bought by a collector. His figure features in Military Modelling Special Issue No. 1 (May 1999), and there is also an article in the French magazine Figurines issue 25.

Best wishes,
Edward Sage

I've seen the French magazine, but I can't find the Military Modelling Special Issue No. 1 with a simple GOOGLE search. You wouldn't happen to have a link to that or a trick for me to find it? I'd love to see that article.

He looks nicely battered about.
I'm glad I'm not called Sir Marmaduke de Thweng.
