    hi to all planetfigure members,
usually , I'm writing looking for hobbyshops in whatever place we're going on holidays to.this time though, I writing to let anyone travelling to hong kong know of some addresses I found while we were there.
we stayed at the Eaton hotel on Nathan Road. very handy to everything and using the MTR(hong kong underground/ bus lines) which was only a block or two away.
The first shop I found., Continental models in Pak Hoi street, is only across the road from the eaton about 1 block back. it's stacked to the roof(literally) with tank ,plane kits and has a range of 1/35 figures as well as kits of chinese ships 1/700 scale .
while out looking for the "ladies market"" I came across a street with two model shops. there were also two shops selling guns and weapons (I didn't ask if they were the real thing or not) next to each other.
the two shops I found were both in Kwong Wah street. One at 14 G/F Kwong wah street, mong kok(this might be the UML store but , I can't remember now.) is listed on their business card as the Wai Le model Entre. also next door is the sunny model Company both shops are small but stacked with models.
I found another shop at the end of Temple street while checking out the night markets. Lee Kwon hobbies ,36-40 Temple street ,Yau ma tei(use the yau ma tei mtr) this is mostly for railway modellers as there are only about 4 plane kits there. the shop is well stocked with mostly marklin, n gauge and other accessories.
lastly, a friend had given me the address of Toymax ,shop 1F-5,prudential centre,216-228A Nathan road, Kowloon. they also have a website www.toymaxco.cc. again a small shop but packed with plenty of figures and some magazines like Mr Black, catalogues as well as a toy solider range called Patriot figures. nice, but not really what I was interested in.also, they sell models
óf airliners. half of the shop is full of them. they sell pegaso, metal modeles, authorscale(Russian?) romeo, mitch's models to mention just some of the ranges. Robert, who owns/ works there ,is also a figure painter and great to talk to as well. hong kong is said to be a shoppers paradise and it certainly appears that way. the prices are a little more expensive but these are only half of the addresses I had
hope this has been help to anyone planning their next holiday.
