I have been working on this one from Mitches Military Models for a little while it is a commission I am doing for a friend, I meant to post a wip on here but completely forgot. All previous progress can be found here.

This is the most recent pictures and description

Further work has been done on the tunic the highlights have been brought up using various mixes of 18 Bottle Green and Caliban Green. Blended back using successive washes of 13 Deep Bronze Green. The shadows were blended using the mid tone mix with some Caliban Green added.

The head has been attached and the collar area has received a flat black base coat.

The cross belt has been given a base coat of leather brown this will be worked on soon to give a worn black leather look......

Apart from the eyes the flesh tones are pretty well finished. I have started working on the hair which had previously been undercoated using Splinter Brown and washed with sepia shade.

A base coat of 988 Khaki and 347 Splinter mix was applied. The whole area was then washed using a darker mix of 988 and a greater ratio of 347 to bring out the shadows. Deeper shadows have been slightly picked out using 347. I then used the base coat to begin picking out areas of hair. Further work on this area is needed to gradually bringing of the dirty blond locks Sean Bean had in Sharpe.

    More soon.....

    Cheers Simon

Nice work on the "Rifle Green", it's a colour I have been struggling to get right on a 200mm Carl Reid figure...

Its one of those colours that seems to differ from reference to reference, It took a while to get a mix I was comfortable with, went few a couple that were far to emerald and some that were too dull.
I ended up using some of my more obscure paints rather than my preferred Vallejo or Andrea acrylics.

    The method was

    Black Primer

over this was airbrushed Tamiya XF69 Nato Black

    next I airbrushed at 45* angle a mix of XF69+XF11 J.N Green+ XF70 Dark Green
    3 : 1 : 1

To the highs areas I applied a Mid tone mix of Miniatures paints 18 Bottle Green + 13 Deep Bronze Green+ a little Citadel Abaddon Black

The highlights were brought out further using mixes of 18 Bottle Green and Caliban Green gradually increasing the ratio of Bottle Green this was blended using washes of deep bronze green.

The shadows were harmonised using thinned Mid tone mix plus Caliban Green.
