This is a bust of my friend Ray Luce who served in the Flame Platoon, HHC, 2d BN, 47th IN (Mech), 9th ID during the Incursion into Cambodia in 1970. The bust from PMC Miniatures looked quite a bit like Ray, so I added some putty here and there to get it to represent him. I added part of the collar, the sleeves, and 9th ID patch. The bust was painted with acrylics. This bust was completed in 2021.

Ray did like the bust.

PMC did do some nice pieces. I was a bit disappointed with this one because the collar was not complete and helmet details were not quite what I would expect for a larger scale bust.

The color I used for the uniform was a mixture of Scale 75 Scalecolor SC-45 Ardennes Green and SC-46 Field Gray. I didn't record the ratio or anything like that, I just did it by eyeball. Black was added for shading and Vallejo Sunny Skintone was added for highlights.
