Cheers mate , hope the eye is all okay now ......the bandolier is Definately going to be good to do ....but first it's the main uniform colour to get going on

Yes eye is OK, still a little tender where it gets the clips to keep it open but that's normal, then a whole four weeks before the next one.

There is something good about painting the red-brown leather of those bandolier that is satisfying, or am I just weird?

Your not weird just st a modeller ...or into leather .......

I keep looking at the slouch and thinking it's just not sitting right on the head ....really thinking of removing and replacing with the original helmet .....

    Now who is weird !

Nah leather chaffey too much. All I'd say about the slouch hat is that the right hand side of the crown slopes up at an odd angle, to be fair the first version was preferable. Don't give up though, better to be unique than bog standard.

Unique ....maybe but need to be happy as poss ....

Spoke to those more into sculpting asking for honest thoughts ...couple of things pointed out ......so OFF IT CAME .....and came away fairly cleanly as well

....anyone want a slouch hat ....used once .....LOL

Currently stopped painting uniform going to paint the inside of the helmet

It's why we do what we do

I suppose it saves buying more models, just keep re-doing the same one over and over and......

It's a shame mate but being happy with what you do is paramount otherwise why bother. I would encourage you to keep on with the conversions though, every piece is a learning curve.

Yeah it does look good in the helmet and it's your own painting that makes it unique. The flash looks good, neat lettering and stitches but I bet you'll be happy to call this one done.

Despite all your hard efforts with the hat, I prefer this version.

Thank you Simon , glad you noticed the flash .......it will look good once finished ...not keen on so much Kharki ! ....and not a medal or ribbon in sight ....lol

Cheers mate it was a good learning curve

LOL ...The busts always look better than me my friend .....and they are more active at times .....

    Bit of update

Resculpted the moustache....after again knocking the pointy ends off ....banana fingers ! and have began painting the uniform starting with sections at rear as its a big bust ...it's actually a lighter colour than helmet ! ....no doubt as I progress it will change

........can't wait to get to the leather and badges ...lol

    Happy benchtime all

I agree with all the above, looks really good and once the tunic and bandolier are done it will quite a striking figure, may your brush hairs never part.

Thanks Malc ...I liked the waxed moustache ends ....but too risky with my delicate banana fingers

Cheers Simon .....every other bit of hair seems to have parted ...lol

The bandolier will be enjoyable ....there are bullet ends showing , think I will remove and drill out the sections

    Small update .....

Working my way down the rear of uniform .....coming along nicely

Took off the water bottle for easier access so will need to replace the attachment straps once haversack done

    Cheers for looking in

    Have FUN @ the bench

Excellent millinery developments. Looking back at the pictures of the slouch hat, you made the right decision IMO. Tough to undo a lot of hard work but sometimes it has to be done. This is looking full of character.

Good idea on the bandolier, but leave him some ammo as a rifle ain't much use without it. Will look good with some of the rounds removed suggesting actual involvement in the conflict.
