This is my entry for the JMD sculpting contest 2008.
An initiative from JMD miniatures ( France )
They produced a naked bust that has to be used in there contest as base to create a new one .
It has to be origial and not commercial available .
All information is available at http://www.jmd-miniatures.com/concours.php
I can not paint the miniature because no paint is alowed on the entries .

    The materials used are :
tamyia putty ( the green one/slow drying type) : for the first time I used this
medium to replace the ( hard to get ) green stuff .
lead foil : for the leather straps
brown stuff : for some details ( buttons ) and the pipe

Below a step by step how I did it :

the start , the naked bust : I removed some musscle structures and sanded down the shoulders .

The first layers to create the uniform and the blanket .
The cap finished with the feather ( seen in an Men at Arms publication)

The hair and beard finished .
The pipe is made from copper wire and some brown stuff .

This is just GREAT! That bust has such a fantasy look to it I would not have passed it for something like this. Great work! If this were a commecial piece I would snatch one up in a second!
