Who's wondering what one of those is? :playful:

This has been a weekend project because I had a compelling urge to practice painting a white horse in 30mm. This looked a likely and interesting candidate from the grey army.

You've really caught the white of the horse. Incredible for a weekend project - mine was so packed I haven't had bench time for ages.

    Cheers

You sure come up with some obscure subjects Roger.
This is a really interesting piece.....far too small though.
Your work on the white horse is very well done, and all in one week end.
    Great work

A weekend project, Dont you sleep in your house or get dragged out by OSWMBO shopping.
He would have been lucky to get his hat painted in a weekend on my table.
But very nice all the same

Thank you for the comments everyone.
I didn't intend for it to be done so quickly,it just kind of happened.

You could probably find a more obscure bit of history and a more obscure quasi military unit, but it would be difficult. The white horse turned out fine, nice grey-blue shadows! The Seressaner "uniform" reminds me a bit of a French Colonial Spahi.

    All the best,
    Dan

    Thanks Dan.
This came along with two KuK Hussars I bought from ebay, funnily enough this turned out to be the more interesting of the three and the only one to be painted so far.
    Here's some illustrations.

Bob, Colin, Marc, thank you very much.
That was the last completed figure for this time at home, back to work today.
Next time home I'll finish Ellie'sMiniatures Chasseur Trumpeter and I plan to paint some 30mm flats of Bersaglieri troops and another unusual subject. :playful:

Based on the illustrations, you could do 3 or 4 of these in varying colors and shades! That would make for an interesting presentation at a model show, eh? Wonder how the judges would react?

    All the best,

    Hi Roger,
That's a fine piece of work for a weekend mate.(y)..............and a great optical illusion by using mirrors to suggest it's painted on both sides:sneaky::ROFLMAO: Dennis made me do it.
The white horse not only has great shading, but looks textured as well.
    cheers
