I really like this and I am sorely tempted, however the rank insignia is odd. He has 3 stripes on his trousers and 4 on his dolman and pelisse. If he is a Major, signified by the 4 stripes these should alternate thick and thin stripe ( 2 of each) and be mirrored on the trousers. Captain is a thick stripe between 2 thin ones.(Source- Rousselot) All the stripes are the same on the model and now I've seen them a pedant like me would need to correct this, which when you are spending £50 ish kind of takes the shine off it.
It looks a lovely sculpt and a fantastic paint job too. With all the effort that went into the rest of the figure it's a shame for the rank insignia to have tripped up an otherwise excellent figure.
Sorry

Good see Melanie. Three military rank chevron is for captain, four for chef d´escadron. It seems that the sculptor has forget this. Therefore, one is left over in the dolman and pelisse, or one is missing in the pants.

It’s a lovely subject as I said plenty of painting options

Shame it’s not a larger scale as would look great with the Andrea Hussar

Great spot from Mel surprised the sculptor missed that but easier to add on the pelisse if needed ......

Looking at the pelisse ,perhaps there’s a line peeking out the fur edging ?
