Roy, I find I'm only able to get the surface smooth to a certain point before things like sandpaper are what is needed to finish it off. If you find very small traces of sculpey here and there and are unable to smooth them over, go ahead and bake the piece and use the latter two materials to remove any excess Sculpey and or tool marks.~Gary

Also, dipping your finger in baby powder or corn starch and very lightly rubbing the sculpey with your finger (while the sculpey is uncured) creates a smooth surface.

Tor...many thanks for the tip..I'll give the baby powder a shot...

Gary...Thank you..I kind of thought that might be the ultimate route...I'll not worry too much about the little bits in future..early days yet for me and Super Sculpey :) ..I'll keep at it.

    Thanks again...Roy.

The right leg with the folds refined. I use my spatula to either sharpen or round the folds. If I want them made deeper I use an X-acto knife to remove additional material.

Front view of the right leg. Notice the knee and thigh area. This is the where the material is tighter on the leg.

The right leg refined a bit further. The rolled up cuff was made by pressing a rolled out piece of Sculpey up against the bottom of the trouser leg with my spatula. I then start to slowly remove some of the Sculpey to work in some of the folds.

Once the final shap and folds are completed on the cuf I will use my X-acto to remove Sculpey from the underside of the cuff.

A few folds are also worked into the bottom of the trouser leg just above the rolled cuff.

The areas of the trousers that would be loose see the most folds.

Note from this view how the trouser fabric is tighter on the top of the thigh and the knee. Below the knee the fabric is loose again.
