The kit is great as-is without the lights! I just added those because I thought they would look cool. That said, it's super easy to use l.e.d.s these days! I'm happy you help you if you want to give it a go.

LOL Simon. I did the same, but mine led to fascination with electricity. I went on to become an Electrician after the Service and it suited me well. A few shocks and 20 years and now I help run the North American Electric Grid which was the envy of the free world. Lol

This whole project was me as youngster. You won't burn your place down with tiny LEDs . This is fascinating to see how Matt has used them.

The cape colour will work well but will our superhero survive when his mum finds her best towel being used !

What about adding a cat ?

Someone better than me could use and old iPod with a screen to make that TV work! I would love a cat there but there is just no room :)

They are going to gift me another kit when I send this back to them, so maybe I’ll add a cat then :)

The inginuity alone is top shelf making this come alive, Matt. Pretty awesome progress. This is classic work!

Outstanding! I fit into the age group of the kid building the model. The Aurora Monsters and Dinosaurs
were my first models and I can't wait to get this kit. :)

Work-in-progress post seven for "Saturday Morning," coming soon from Michael Berglund and Escape Hatch Hobbies!
Today's work focuses on the face. I added captions to each pic to describe my process, on the original facebook post if you're interested. I used a verdacchio underpainting to create the initial shading, then sprayed on flesh tones, that were further enhanced with brushwork. I think the little fella has developed lots of character!
This baby is getting close to the point where the I can pin and glue the sub assemblies, which is just a few steps away from done! The whole piece together is going to blow your mind! There is just so much detail here to play with. Start clearing out some shelf space, because you're going to want one of these!

Perfect, even the tongue hanging out of the corner of his mouth. Interesting method for face painting and very effective.

You're going to have to wait a little bit longer for the full reveal of "Saturday Morning!" I'm going to be doing an interview with the Model Club TV Podcast this weekend where we will not only reveal the full paint-up of this monumental kit, but they will also have the drawing for the winner of one, as sponsored by the Fantastic Plastic, Resin & Vinyl FB group! Full details on when it will be up on Youtube soon.
