Hi all

An update about the samurai I have been working on lately.
Face is done completely (with painted one week old beard) as well as kabuto (helmet) and sashimono (flag).

However hands are not done at all.
Head, hands and sashimono are still not attached to the torso.

There is some purple on both weapons (not shown on pictures)

Also, the naginata was replaced with a steel one and will receive the same kind of decoration that I have painted on the base of the sashimono (black lacquered part). Of course, the right hand will grab more of it when final gluing will be done.

As you can see, I have put the naginata with the blade facing up since the initial sculpt is, IMHO, all wrong on this aspect.

Will see the end of it soon !

All done with acrylics.

Any comments are more than welcome.

Also if you have any idea for the main color of the belts, let me know : I'm thinking either white, black & red, purple, beige, etc...

Cheers

Mark, Fermatgom, Huw , Mike and Carl thank you for the kind words.

Fermatgom, I can find so many things wrong on my figure ! But that's normal I guess since I almost see this figure in my dreams !

I must say that the most difficult thing for me at this point is to find the most suitable color scheme for the two belts.
From what I read, plain white was pretty much the norm but belts could be of any color.
I have been playing with Photoshop and trying a few color schemes virtually before commiting on the real figure..

Cheers

There's really nothing to suggest. This is perfect as it stands. No words good enough to describe what I see.Exceptional work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Oda.

Breathtaking!:wideyed:
How long did this figure take you with all those tiny details?
Cheers
Ulf

Thanks !
I think that I have now something like 120 hours of prep and painting in this figure
The details are not that time consumining. I have discovered that the less diluted my acrylic paint is, the faster I can do the freehand and the most accurate the brush strokes will be. Something like one drop of water for one drop of Vallejo paint.

Cheers
