Hi all. I’m working on this chap, a 3D print of a model by Leavon Archer. It’s a beautiful bust but I’m not sure how to approach something of this scale or a Japanese complexion.

So far I’ve airbrushed in skin tones, including highlights and shadows. I’ve used very thin dark red to add a little warmth and bring out the creases. There’s a lot of ‘tidying up’ to do around the hair, eyes and so on obviously but I’m trying to work out how to bring out the texture of the skin or add some blemishes. I suppose what I’m wondering is how to make the large expanses of skin look interesting.

TIA folks

Done I think, it was a great figure to ‘get my eye in’ after not doing a bust for ages. I think my main issues really are to do with poor preparation - I primed with a rattle can and got a slightly rough finish, not a mistake I’ll repeat.
