Hi Again - here is a progress pic of my Samurai.
It is about 3/4 finished. It is only temporarily put together on it's base - I'd hate to paint it as an assembled model.
Hopefully I can show you the finished thing on my bench soon!

I purchased this kit a short while ago. I find it to be an awesome piece, don't you? Looking forward to see your samourai finished. Great work so far. (y)

Looks good, Mr. Carpenter. How did you paint the orange sleeve (base mix, highlights, shadows, etc.)?

Hi there - the orange is made up of cadmium red medium and cadmium yellow.
Highlights are simply the same with more of the yellow and a little titanium white.
I use Scarlet lake as the first shadow and then added cadmium red deep mixed in for the deeper shadows. The darkest shadows are achieved with a glaze of straight sepia.
All paints are Winsor and Newton fast drying oils.
    Hope that helps
    Carpo
