    SALADIN - FALL OF JEROUSALEM - 1187

    Hello guys .

I have been thinking quite a long time now to bring out 2 projects , from the Fall of Jerousalem era.(Inspired also from the movie Kingdom of Heaven - just as a theme - .

One small and one big .

Of course i started withthe smaller to get warmed up !! LOL

So i painted Saladin from Time Machine Miniatures and a Ghulam Guard from Il Feudo Miniatures forthis purpose and made them standing on a part of the castle after the surrendering of Jerousalem.

Both figures painted with acrylics, and some printers inks formetals.

Saladin was ok figure in resin.

The Ghulam -metal figure - was not that good as it needed lots of cleaning and also the fitting was bad and demanded onw whole evening for making it fit .

The scenery is based on a Romeo models base of a castle section that i cutted down in pieces with the dremel tool and rearranged the building, so i could give height to the arch and suit it to my needs.

The wall detailing is scratched , and i also reengraved the whole seam lines net and made some stone damage where is evident .

I choosed to make the painting of the scenery a bit monotonous to match what i have seen inthe movie but also in reall life when visiting these mediaeval castles where only a tone dominates the color of stone

I just hope you like it , cause it was fun for me to do it . I have another big project but needs a totally scratched scenery - big one - and more than 6 figures , so it will need quite a time to make it .

Costas, this is very nice. Your colors on the Saladin and the second figure are excellent. I love this scene. I too have been thinking about a fairly large scrath-built scene from this film, which I own. Perhaps the use of of a seige tower and a catapult ?!

Wonderful job! Can't wait to see as the larger project develops.

By the way, the stonework here is amazing.

Hi Kyle and thanks for commenting . What part of the scene you "own" and from what companies range ? i am thinking of scratchbuilding a fairly large part of the wall section at Saint Cristopher;s gate , that can hold like 6-8 figures . part of a broken down catapult is in the pocibilities my friend
