About 7 years ago I was chasing for S&T 1/16 scale figures. To be more effective I setup on my eBay account a notification for search phrase "S&T 1/16" - every time when an item including this phrase in its description appeared on eBay, I was receiving a notification.
I have this notification still turned on and during this 7 years I have seen this kit on eBay once!
Besides the fact, that it was sold for some crazy money.

I'm always hoping there's one out there somewhere that someone has tucked away in the closet, they will finally conclude they will never get around to building it and let it go. Hope springs eternal...

Well after years of fruitless searching, I finally managed to get my own S&T "holy grail" (the "Chosin Few" set) on here in trade a while back. So ya never know!

There are bound to be some buried away in stashes somewhere. It's a real shame that the S&T range haven't been re-issued. I'm guessing that Mr. Rosengrant is just sitting on the masters, which seems a bit of a waste given how popular (and good) they are.

Best of luck in your search Jason. (y)

John Rosengrant has nothing to do with the masters beyond having the ability to sculpt new ones. Only one of the 2 original owners of S&T is involved with the masters and nobody really knows if they still exist.

I always thought that S&T was JR's company. Clearly I was mistaken. Regardless, I still say that if they do still exist it seems a terrible waste that whoever has them is just sitting on them.

I think the JR that ran S&T was maybe John Robinson? That name sticks in my head for some reason. John Rosengrant did sculpts but I think that was the extent of it all. It pains me to think that somewhere, in a dark closet or basement, sit all the masters for the S&T stuff, just rotting away...

Jim Sullivan was the "S" in S&T and I can't recall the other gentlemans name. John Rosengrant was co-owner of Warriors for awhile with Chris Mrosko until John's movie involvement took off.
John Robinson was in the same area as he was coach of the LA Rams and USC.o_O

Thanks for clearing that up Bob. I knew that John Rosengrant had been involved with a model figure company, but I'd always thought it was S&T for some reason. You learn something every day! (y)

I have the S&T Afrika Korps panzer III with Figures,I got it from a local show, the previous owner painted and stripped the figures, and painted the turret and hull (Tamiya Acrylics)stripped the turret and, some pieces glued on.Its complete,a couple of broken latches on tools and a broken lifting lug on hull.Even has the instructions.I have so many other projects on the go I probably won't get to it.Focusing mainly on 1/35 now. What's it worth now?

Like anything, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. No more no less.

As you've just joined us I will say welcome to pF, but at the same time I think an offer to help would have made a far more impressive first post and a much better impression than asking a question like that.

As Steve said, what its worth all depends on who wants it. E-bay is the de facto means of determining value for many things these days. As for my want of the kit, I decided it wasn't likely I would find one and went about detailing one of the 1/16 RC Panzer III's I got off e-bay. With some work and dropping a few$$$, I probably have it about as detailed as the S&T kit. I bit the bullet and bought the recast figs out of Russia that are on e-bay as well. I figure S&T is long out of business and getting authentic ones was a long shot proposition. I wouldn't be interested in buying, but if you wanted to trade for 1/35 kits, and you could provide some pics, I might be interested. I got out of 1/35 and have quite a few never to be built kits.

There are around 20 casts of this piece in the whole planet. If you take some 8-10 painted, there's less around to be yet painted than Mclaren's F1 LM's.

The price tag for modeller is way above reality, and will not be sold. But they should definitely be painted.

They made out around 22-25 pieces. At that price when new, we should have got them. Too late now. I have one of those "resin myths", a Warriors 120mm full Vietnam V-100 (3.4 kilos of resin) with 2 exclusive figures made by Rosengrant just for this piece. 34 casts ever made.
