Finally finished..this was my first fig from Tank company and I can recommend them...the artwork on their web site does not do them justice..and I really enjoyed painting this one. Have put a few before/after pics on.
The ruin and fig were painted in acrylics...with just a bit of snow added for effect. 54mm.

    Hello Mr. Pepper:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, here. You Sir are some artist. You have
such a feel for Colour Harmony. And your photographs are very good as well.

This presentation definitely has a very atmosphere feel and mood to it. I can
almost see Ed Harris, grabbin' a peek from the building across the strassa.

Awesome little vignette Steve wth full of tension. I like the way you paint the remains of the corner house.
Wich colors you used to paint the bricks?

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
As the building was made of plaster, I left it white and did a wash of yellow first..followed by several washes..really thin...of red browns....this allowed the yellow to 'bleed' through giving natural highlights. Then with a dark black/brown color ...ran this between the bricks to represent shadow.
The plaster was painted a light/bluish grey..then washed with darker greys to effect a patchy look. Balsa wood frames were washed in a similar way.
Best way to paint bricks is to actually look at a real wall...you will be amazed at how many colors there are...from yellow through to blues and down to blacks......
    Steve.

    Hi Steve,

Pls allow me to elaborate my appreciation:

I would be golden if I could achieve this. I think this little display shows knowledge, intuition, and love for the subject matter. This has got to be one of the most spiritually Soviet works on Planet in recent years.

Ok I will shut up now...

    Hi my Friend,
I love the whole scene, and the position of the miniature scene!
I think the painting will become even how atmospheric and will speak the plain piece!
