    Hello everyone.
For a long time I was asked to publish this WIP on Planetfigure, and as work on the figure is nearing completion, I thought it might be time to do it.

The customer wanted a cuirassier based on a drawing by artist Alexei Temnikov.
    001.jpg

I needed a horse. And the horse # 9 from Chronos Miniatures was taken as a basis. But it took some adaptation to be more similar to the original drawing, namely changing the position of the front right leg and the position of the head with the neck. All work on the figurine is done with Milliput epoxy putty, in some places Magic Sculp is used in a mixture with Greenstaff.

Below are a few photos of the process of remaking a horse from resin.

As soon as the horse had a saddle, it was necessary to set a pose for the rider. Well, after that the completion of the horse was postponed to a later time.
    rusnap_Cwin_003_(pose_01).jpg rusnap_Cwin_003_(pose_03).jpg rusnap_Cwin_003_(pose_04).jpg rusnap_Cwin_003_(pose_05).jpg

For the horse, some details appeared on the saddle, but I was in no hurry to restore its muscles after the operation.
    z01.jpg rusnap_Cwin_002_(HorseSaddle_14).jpg

I modelled a pants for the rider, after which I set to work on the greatcoat, a very curious item given its cut.
    z04.jpg z08.jpg z10.jpg

Without finishing work on the greatcoat, I took up the cuirassier's head. I had a head from the casting of my own officer of the guards dragoons (the Russian heavy cavalry at that time had the same helmets for all, well, except that the guards had stars on the forehead plate, and not two-headed eagles), so I broke it, leaving it from only part of the helmet, which I used as a mold release master-model to make a rough copy of the Milliput helmet. After finishing the copy with a knife and sandpaper, I sculpted some details.

Only 25 files can be added to the message here, so I will continue in the next one.
    To be continued.

Next is the face. There were some nuances with him, because the customer wished for a portrait resemblance to one person, and according to him, the resemblance was successful, but it was also lost after the appearance of a mustache and a winter scarf on his face. )))
    rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_10).jpg rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_11).jpg rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_13).jpg

After the face, I sculpted a base for the cuirass, and at the same time went back to the horse and restored her neck, chest and shoulder muscles. I also sculpted a mane for the horse, and tried everything on together, which was done at that time.
    rusnap_Cwin_007_(cuirass_03).jpg rusnap_Cwin_007_(cuirass_04).jpg rusnap_Cwin_007_(cuirass_05).jpg rusnap_Cwin_007_(cuirass_06).jpg

Return to work with a helmet. First, I sculpted the scales on the chin strap. I made a groove in the helmet in order to glue a brass plate into it, which will serve as a frame for the plume, which I sculpted from a mixture of Magic and Greenstaff.
    rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_17).jpg rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_19).jpg rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_20).jpg rusnap_Cwin_005_(Head_22).jpg

    Hands.
In the right hand, in contrast to the original drawing, I sculpted a holding smoking pipe, while I made the left hand as in the drawing, squeezing the reins belt.
    rusnap_Cwin_008_(hands_05).jpg rusnap_Cwin_008_(hands_06).jpg rusnap_Cwin_008_(hands_07).jpg

And then I went back to work on completing the cuirass. It was necessary to make straps of fasteners and a sling for the cartridge bag, which eventually covered half of the work (as it turned out, it was possible not to make the left scaly belt). )))
    rusnap_Cwin_007_(cuirass_07).jpg rusnap_Cwin_009_(lyadunka_01).jpg rusnap_Cwin_009_(lyadunka_03).jpg rusnap_Cwin_009_(lyadunka_04).jpg

That's all for now. Current affairs greatly distract from work on the cuirassier figurine, so productivity has dropped dramatically. But I still hope that in the near future i will be able to make some progress in the work. In the meantime, the figurine looks like in these photos (almost so). ;)

It never fails to amaze me how you sculpting guys bring the concept of a figure to life, its a wonderful skill and this Mounted Figure is certainly a miniature work of art.

Thank you all for appreciating my work so highly. I hope that everyone will like the final stage.

I forgot to indicate that the scale of the miniature is 1/30.

And by the way, if suddenly someone has questions as to why some element of the uniform is made exactly like that, I can explain it. So do not hesitate and ask. )

    Small progress in work.
Added a strap on the back of the greatcoat, a ramrod for the cartridge bag, and finally, the sleeves for the greatcoat have been sculpted.
