Beautiful sork!!

WOuld you mind describing how you rendered the shield?

Thanks,

Kevin D.

Painting is done with acrylics.I used some inks only for metals.
The shield:
I gathered some scorpions pictures and I did the pattern on a paper.
I painted shield with black+burnt umber+prussian blue.Shading with black and lights adding flesh.
I then painted some large spots with humbrol darker and glossy mix(mostly black).
After 5-10 min I scrubbed the surface with an old brush and turpentine.
I painted the scorpion with red beige+red leather+yellow ochre.Shading adding red leather and lights adding y.o.
Some chipping again adding this time some gold ink.(then some corrections, overall shanding and lights e.t.c )

Chris,
very nicely done! I really like the scorpion and the the way you got all the wear on the shield. Good stuff!

Χρήστο, δεν είχα δει τη μινιατούρα αυτή βαμμένη από τα χέρια σου! Όντως πολύ καθαρή δουλειά με ...φοβερό σκορπιό !
