    Hi there!
I'm currently working on this project. I'm converting the Young's Signifer bust into a vexillarius (o vexillifer), for which I scratch builded a vexillum. Now I'm in the painting process, halfway done.
Hope you like . Any comments welcome!

No much to say, i think you are in the way. I think your conversion idea is very nice and perfectly executed. I love the standard, nice red and golds. Steel pulse in the drawing of the bull and letters. Great paint work overall.

The charging bull image of the vexillum is based on this standart of Legio sexta Victrix from a reenactors' group

Clever conversion work, Gerard. The vexillum adds a lot of interest to the bust.

    Wow, that's great work.
I love the subdued feel of the piece very gritty..the way soldiers should be.
    Great stuff.

Thanks Nap, the main canvas and the little counterweights are made of milliput , and then some nail heads, braided brass cable and lead sheet... Very rudimentary stuff, but it worked quite well :)

Hi mate great conversion will set this one apart from others.
Especially like the quirky look on this guy's face.
There's a cute little smirk that give this guy character. Well done!

One thought you might want to consider is the right shoulder/arm looks a little clean & one dimensional in tones on my iPad.
Perhaps a chance to look at this part, realise it's still a work in progress so hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing it spurs me on to be more creative in my own work.

Hi! after a long time far away from the brushes, I'm back on this project.
I'm currently spending more time watching my own arm and how and wich direction the hair grows than painting. It seems at working these large scales this is a forced labour in order to achive a realistic (more or less) result.

    Cheers!
