I really like it Mack. If I may suggest, a satin gloss glaze would enhance the sheen from the metalic surfaces. The details on the cloak and fur skin are terrific.

Thank you Tony, in fact the only touch I have to do is a very light gloss sheen on the metallics.

I love the look of battle hardended soldiers and with this guy youve caught it perfectly. Great tones.
How did you achieve the metallics?

Simply with silver printer's ink and oil colurs, blue black from W&N.
Thank you all for your appreciations.

Beautifully done, the fur, flesh and metalics are spot on. The only thing i'm not sure about is the scar looks a bit dark, but then I guess it depends on whether you are depicting a new scar or an aged one. Grat job.

This is a Young Miniatures bust so you have started with the best. You have painted it very well. The only thing you could do to make it "pop" is to dab some silver ink on the high parts of the ear sheilds. Your aging is really nice of the metals but as soon as you add that shine; look out this bust is GREAT. So tell me, the animal on his shoulders. Is that a bear or a wolf?

If you have this question it means that my paintjob on the animal fur is not well done...sigh!
Anyway, I wanted to depict a wolf. In fact the head of it is more of a wolf than a bear, or not?

Thank you all for the hints and the positive opinions.

WOW! This is outstanding. I don't recall any other versions being quite this squinty-eyed but I like it. Very nice paintjob.

    Hi Mack
When a Young Miniature and a great painter come together the result is magic. Well done.

Marco; the fur is painted great, I just ask because when i painted this bust I painted the animal like a bear. I was later told that it was probably a wolf not a bear. I still hold on to the idea that it is a bear and was hoping you thought the same. Either way your paintjob is really nice.
