Here, a well known figure that I had in stock for a long time....
The Base is made in Milliput and the painting is all in acrylic and with brush only (I don't use any primer, I paint directly on metal...)
I have lot of fun on painting this one !
Thanks for looking, and comments if you want...

Super brushwork there tattoo (y)! Beautifully done earthy colors on the figure and excellent groundwork. I particularly like the overhang of the stones beneath foot.

One of the best versions of this figure I have seen. I really like the darker pallet you have used. The groundwork too is excellent and really sets it off.

I agree with Steve! ... this is one of the best versions of this piece that I have seen! Very well done indeed! .. (y)

However, I do hope that your 'Non-Use', of primer does not come back to haunt you in several years, with the paint flaking off! As that would be damn shame.

Lovely work, Marc....he is every inch a fighting man. Like the way you've done the shield; dark, weathered ,and subtle.

    encore Bravo ! (y)

    Very good painting ! ;)

Stunning all around but, wow, that is THE BEST leather I have ever seen! Would you be so kind as to explain your method? I am currently working on a piece with a lot of leather and have been puzzling how to achieve a texture like you have done.

I love the mood of the scene...
Looks like he's tired of marching and looking forward a new battle.
    Congratulations!

Thank you guys for the very kind comments, Appreciate them... :)
For leather this can vary from a piece to another....
In this case, it was very simple: first, a layer of black then drybrush with Citadel Bleached Bone , and then wash with Vallejo ink "Skin Wash" and "Sepia", with a lot of water, and so forth until you are satisfied by the result !
And, about "no primer" made this for other pieces and and I've never found any problem, but ...
