Actually, in reality, the shield has received multiple layers of shadow and light which are not very noticeable on the picture, unfortunately. Fading is a good idea. Yet, I think it may be hazardous to attempt this effect at this point. I fear I may ruin it entirely. I think I,ll leave it at that.

I did that piece ages ago but after yours i will strip it down to do it again. Welldone mate nice clean job!!!!!!
