120mm resin and white metal
After doing the 120mm Mohican, I ordered the companion figure from the lost battalion. Rogers Ranger, 1758. The kit is comprised of resin with the only white metal being the gun. The kit has minimal flashing and seam work and can be cleaned up fairly easily with an x-acto knife and file.
The main body was cleaned up with just an x-acto knife. The two arms were cast separately and will be painted separately as well. The knife, powder horn and bayonet were attached to a separate sprue to keep intact while shipping and came off the sprue with a knife. All parts were dryfit prior to priming for painting.
After I did the kit review I began cleaning up the seams and removing parts from their protective plugs. I decided how I was going to paint the figure and then began drilling pieces to be pegged for painting.
Box Art
The main body has been given a coat of floquil dark green enamel and the pants have been given a coat of floquil buff. Flesh has been done and areas adjoining the flesh have been primered. Small parts were super glued to tooth picks for ease of painting.
After the flesh dried, I base coated the beard and hat to be later shaded and highlighted.
All comments and critique are welcome
