    Hi Brian,

I've always loved this figure. To me it captures the immense suffering and waste of that terrible winter retreat from Moscow. The face is so mournful, the clothing so obviously inadequate, the cold so intense. You've really nailed this mate. I'm not sure the sign post is necessary, but it certainly does set the scene literally. The thing I like most is that you've been brave enough to obscure your paint job with snow to create a thoroughly realistic weathering effect. He looks frozen and miserable. Well done.

I have to agree, it takes a certain amount of bottle to slap micro balloons over a nicely painted figure. In this instance it's worked, very well done.
