Hi guys and dolls

This is a revamp of an old one sitting in the display cabinet,whacked him off his very 80's style base
blasted with all sorts of things to clean him up dug out a base which was a flub up for a client ,done away with the silly rock that came with this guy and made a bit of walling with magic sculpt over a balsa form and some model rail plasti card cobbles .
The original figure was taken from a Museum de la Armee manikin in white summer Tenue
but think i can add a bit of colour to this one ,will probably do the base in black and do a bit of experimenting on different paints for the figure.

Nice work Ron, like the base and wall and just love that left boot! I can assure you its the best left boot I have seen all day.
Look forward to seeing it completed, the right boot that is!

It is a very straight forward uniform of a white Nankin Dolman "summer Tenue" and red waistcoat,white trousers and braiding ,I was thinking in changing this but if you have some photo's
from the museum that would be appreciated .

I dont think it is either of those two I can't remember who it is by but it caused a wee bit of a stir at the time of creation as it is a very nice casting, it might be a Sanderson effort.Im sure Keith Davidson will know.

ps what I do remember is that there were painting instructions with it and a couple of odd colour suggestions IE red leather boots was one of them but as you can see that is not the case in the Museum manikin ,having said that it wouldn't be the first time things get stuck together

here some picture of the Nankin uniform...

Great idea, I like it. As Ivo said, you can paint it in the nankin creamish white, but you also can paint it as any of the regulated uniforms of the french hussars.

Thanks Ivo, for the photo's ,I am thinking of changing the colour as the whole thing in cream off white is a bit bland ,haven't decided on which regiment yet.

I have the same train of thought as you regards a bit of colour. not sure though if the Nankin jacket was done in other colours or not.
