Here are some progress shots of a woodland indian. He will be inspecting a rusty old Scottish broadsword. It's inspired by the Griffing painting "Something Happened Here". I am changing a few details so as not to copy it outright.

John, Nice job. That's a great painting which to base a vigneete or single figure on. The leggings are looking good.~Gary

Hey, thanks Gary. I've always admired your skill at these and kind of used the ones I've seen you do as a benchmark.

Here's the head. It's my second 54mm head and I'm fairly pleased.

Great job with the head, John! You should be pleased.

What putty did you use? Any carving involved?

    Hey Jason,

I used magic-sculpt. I carved out the ears and did a bit of shaping to the mouth after the putty had set. The wrinkles in the forehead were added with an oval file. The whole thing represents three sessions of sculpting and one carving.
