Before my ageing eyes pack up on me, I want to have a crack at a really detailed all scale figure. I chose this beautiful figure from Alexandrosodels of an arrogant Roman centurion, Quintus Sertonius Festus of The eleventh legion.
Painted in Jo Sonja acrylics, I will do some oil washes to enhance the flesh tones and the armour.

    Any comments are welcome. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Nicely done Tony - lovely, clean job. Especially like your treatment of the leathers and the striping on the cloak. Gotta love that pose too!

I love this figure and for the same reasons as Tony, I just wish it had been in 75 or 90mm.

    Really well painted figure mate!

Beautiful paintwork Tony. The cloak really gives it that extra pzazz.

Looking good, Tony. Lots of nice detail, and I love the striping on his cloak.
Arrogant looking bugger, wasn't he? :) Great figure and pose though.

Yup, he looks quite the arrogant cuss alright! You did a bang up job on him Tony. He is colorful and well detailed. I say you still have a few more miles to go on the ole Mark 1 eyeball!:D

Great stuff Tony. Coincidentally I'm working on this very same figure at the moment and for pretty much the same reason.
I'm really enjoying painting a few 54s at the moment and this one has everything. Like most of Larrucia's figures the face damn near paints itself, the detail he's achieved exceeds most 75s on the market. Looking forward to starting on Quintus's brother next also by Alexandros and Laruccia.
Will be keeping a beady eye on this ;)
    Cheers
