Quite a plain bust as such so.......I did the following alterations

Reduced the height of headwear ...purely visual but happier

Reduced and reshaped the plume and feather

    Removed the right hand cockade

Added a band around lower back of helmet

Removed all lacing and replaced it ...pics to follow

Detailed up epaulettes ....pics to follow

Coming on a treat. Such unusual headgear with the crescent.
I wouldn't go too dark for the green as the rank and file would likely not be as deep as the officers one in your reference photos.

Cheers for the comment , headwear is unusual , trying to show the officers clothing as info the original uniform ( not possible to add the fringes to epaulettes )
...still not sure ref that plume angle !

Not the easiest of uniforms to add interest to but it's very early days on him

Cheers Steve , hope to get some more done ...along with a commission ! ......oh and inbetween the festive season !

    Happy benchtime

Looking good mate, we know your going to put your own stamp on him and we enjoy looking at what you do. It makes them all so individuality.

Hope your feeling much better and get some good bench time in.

Merry Christmas to you and your family

    Hi Steve

At the moment , very rough basecoating , will tidy it up before progressing , the expression is interesting , going to be a challenge ...for me at least with just green and black to work with ...but will come together for sure

I've now repositioned the plume to level it up

Hope to get to the bench today ........inbetween trying to remove Carole from the shops ...lol ...bless

Hi Kev, hope you're feeling better. I think the plume straightened up will be better.
I agree that your choice to portray him as an officer is correct, with him wearing that curled wig? His hairstyle looks rather fancy.

Iffyvision pictures are hard for colour appreciation, but I think the green can be lightened up a tad, perhaps a little sap green (or a smidge of yellow), as it looks a bit to Olive to me.

    Hi Henk

Plume is better straight, so happier with that , once all lacework painted properly will look a lot better ! , green will be a lot different , this is only a very base colour

    Thanks for looking in

    Happy benchtime

Next will be the green on plume , the headwear green band

Also have added a hint of a sash .....putty drying overnight ....will add that little bit of additional red/ scarlet colour against the waistcoat and the black/green

You too keep sharing those wonderful figures

Little bit of a update on the Ranger , plume and cockade (less button) completed , next will be feather , then the actual helmet

This is interesting to paint as not much actual colour , so hopefully will get this looking okay !

    All thoughts welcome

    Happy benchtime
