    Hi guys,

It's been a long time since I posted anything on this forum.

I took a break from figure modelling and started work on a 1/48th scale Tamiya Voight Corsair kit and also started work on a Tamiya Aston Martin DBS (the James Bond Casino Royale version). The plane kit was given away in a fit of frustration and the car kit has been discretely placed back in its box which now resides in the garage (and will remain there forever).

It's fair to say that a change isn't always as good as a holiday.

Working on those other kits convinced me that I am, and always will be, a figure modeller.

I'm back to where I belong, and have started painting this lovely Andrea 90mm figure of a WW1 Prussian Infantryman.

Welcome back Tony. You can run, but you can't hide...

The face looks very nice. Your choice of tones creates a suitably gloomy expression.

    Cheers,

Looking very good Tony, I like your style.
I have also been down that road, with armour, they are in the box under the bed.
I may just do a hatch with a painted figure stuck in it but that means looking under the bed.
    All the best

You make a nice plane mate, but it can never beat your figure painting.
This is looking beaut already, looking forward to seeing how he turns out.

Thanks for your comments fellas, they are always appreciated.

Hi Peter, Richard Thomas is the actor who played Paul Baumer in "All Quiet on the Western Front". He is the inspiration for this figure

Thanks again for your comments guys.

I did some highlighting on the boots and leather webbing straps last night. Once I've painted the figure in acrylics, I will go over the flesh and leather with a wash of oil paint to deepen the colours and give the surface a bit of sheen.

Further progress over the weekend. Painted and added the back pack.

Still a lot of small touches to do and then the entire figure will be washed in oils.

Ahh there's a backpack......I see now,...I was wondering how he could still be standing with such a serious artillery injury to his back......:nailbiting:

It's another wonderful piece Tony, beautifully painted....well done mate.

    Tony,
Looking superb, what oil colours do you use as a wash.
