    Lucco Powder

This could be a subsitute for printers ink and it comes in colors.
Lucco Powder... Pearl's Art Supply carries it.
I have silver, bronze and another bronze that is almost black with flecks
    of bronze in it.

I mix it with Liquin. It works well.

I have the printers ink too... so I alternate using both.

I'm not finding that on their website. Has anyone else found this product for sale online?

    Mis-spelled

    Sorry guys...

I pulled out the containers I have... it is LUCO Powder..
Its made by Leo Uhlfelder co. in Mt. Vernon, NY.

I will check Pearls site to see if they list it. IF not.. they always
carry it in their store.. so if your not close to one.. you may want to
call them and see if they will pull it off the shelf and mail.

Oh ok thanks! For silver which finish of the aluminum powder to you recommend? Brilliant, super bright, or fine? I would use it to represent steel weapons mainly.

    Hi

I have the fine.. and when I compare with the other one.. which does not
say if it is brilliant or super bright.. it is very dull.. the fine one is.

I will be honest with you I have not used the fine.

What I do is for a highlight or high shine.. I will use the powder and the carrier
I use is the clear liquid on top of a Testors paint bottle. The little small square
enamel paint. Otherwise I will just use Liquin.

What I will do tonite is look at the difference between the fine and the other.
Again.. my containers are old and it does not say brilliant or super bright. I
get the brilliant or bright by adding the carrier.

    Will post again tonight.

Did you find it on line to purchase it. I only saw the mfg. site.

Thanks for testing what you have. It will help us decide what to get.

I realize now that what is for sale on Pearl's website it a different brand called Sepp Leaf Metallic Powder but it looks comparable to LUCO.

OK.. I just mixed both... and here is what it looks like.
I mixed both with Liquin... as the carrier.

The Fine powder.. is dull.. flat looking. It looks that way in the conatiner.

The other one I have, doesn't say brilliant or super bright. But it must be one of
those.. because it came out much brighter than the Fine powder.

I think both of these will even be "brighter" when you use a different carrier
like the Testor's clear top carrier in the enamel bottles. I just tried the Fine powder
with the Testor's carrier and it did come out much brighter.

I think Michaels also carries that Metallic powder too.. I think it is called something
    else.

    Hope this helps.

I just looked at Pearl's web site. I see the Metallic your talking about.
It's not cheap compared to the Luco Powder. Luco is about half that price. But
if you cannot find.. then this Sepp is the next best thing.

One other metal powder I have is Mona Lisa Products... have not looked to see if
this is available... I have Metal Powder... Pale Gold.

A lot of this stuff had been given to me.. or passed down to me...
The Luco Powder I do know the Pearl's out my way has/had it. I bought
1 bottle about 2 years ago.

This stuff lasts a long time.. it does not take much to mix up and use. It is just
a touch and it mixes up to be a lot. I usually over mix and have left overs and
I just found out that you can refrigerate it and it will last a few days. I just put
it in a little plastic conatiner with a lid and pop it in the fridge.
